In 2019, Scottish Government launched its Learning Estate Investment Programme, aimed at delivering high quality, low carbon and inspiring educational environments.

The Programme is supported by an innovative ‘outcomes based’ funding approach, developed by the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) on behalf of COSLA and Scottish Government to help improve how school buildings are managed and maintained across the Programme.

Events

With 46 school projects in the Programme and all at various stages of planning, construction and operation, there are benefits to be had in discussing initiatives and sharing ideas, best practice and challenges with the many stakeholders involved.

Since 2020, SFT has facilitated these shared learning events with Architecture & Design Scotland, covering topics including lessons learned from completed LEIP projects, additional support for learning, energy reporting and monitoring, refurbishments and construction embodied carbon.
